This car has the main feature of a coke bottle and had its bumpers right into the designs of the front end and the rear that was inspired from the Pontiac GTO. Pontiac wanted at first to produce a two seat sports car from its own design based on the first original concept car, Banshee and General Motors feared that such a car will give a hard competition to Chevrolet Corvette so they decided to give the Pontiac a piece of the pony car out on the market and have a shared F body platform with its cousin, the Corvette. Because of this disappointing decision Pontiac wanted to remake the model with its own design and engineering.
